Boudoir photography is an intimate portrait experience designed to help you see yourself with fresh eyes. Yes, the photographs can be beautiful, sensual, bold, soft, or a little dangerous in the best way. But the camera is only part of it.

At Marmalade Boudoir, boudoir is about finding the woman who may have gotten buried beneath motherhood, work, body changes, heartbreak, caregiving, grief, or the general chaos of being alive. She is not gone. She may just need a little room to come back into focus.

Boudoir is not a modeling test

You do not need experience. You do not need a “boudoir body.” You do not need to know how to arch your back, where to put your hands, or how to make a sexy face without laughing.

That is my job.

I demonstrate and guide every pose, expression, breath, hand placement, and tiny adjustment. Most women arrive nervous. Almost none of them arrive knowing what to do. A professional boudoir experience is built for exactly that.

It can look like you

Boudoir does not have one uniform. It can mean a bodysuit and heels, an oversized sweater, white sheets, a favorite T-shirt, a robe, or something more daring. You choose how much you reveal. You choose whether the mood feels romantic, powerful, playful, soft, dramatic, or somewhere in between.

The point is not to squeeze you into someone else’s version of sexy. The point is to create photographs that feel unmistakably yours.

What happens during a boudoir experience?

At the private Marmalade studio in Columbus, Indiana, the experience begins with professional hair and makeup. We choose your final outfits together, including pieces from the Client Closet in sizes XS–5X. During the session, I guide you from head to toe and adjust everything as we go.

Afterward, you review your proofs and choose the photographs you love most. Your purchased images receive professional finishing that keeps you recognizable and real.

Is boudoir only for a partner?

Nope. Some women create an album as a gift, but many book because they are ready to do something for themselves. Boudoir can mark a birthday, marriage, divorce, weight loss, recovery, motherhood, an anniversary, or no occasion at all.

You do not need a dramatic reason. Wanting to see yourself differently is enough.
