A couples boudoir session is not about pretending your relationship looks like somebody else’s fantasy. It is about photographing connection: the familiar look, the laughter, the tension, the softness, and the way you recognize each other.
You do not need to know how to pose together. You do need to communicate.
Talk about boundaries before the session
Discuss what each person is comfortable wearing, revealing, and doing. Talk about what should remain private and whether either person has poses, language, or touch they want to avoid.
Consent belongs to both people throughout the experience. Either person can ask for an adjustment or say no.
Choose wardrobe that feels connected
Your outfits do not need to match, but they should make sense together. Think coordinated colors, textures, levels of formality, or a shared mood.
A simple combination—black undergarments, denim, a button-down, bare feet—can photograph beautifully. Bring options and avoid forcing one person into a costume they hate.
Posing is fully guided
Couples often worry they will look awkward or will not know what to do with each other. I direct placement, movement, hands, faces, and where to look. Some frames may be quiet and intimate. Others may involve movement or laughter.
You are not expected to manufacture chemistry for the camera. We build photographs from the connection that is already there.
Privacy decisions belong to both people
Photographs from a couples session should never be shared without the required permission from everyone pictured. Decide whether the images will remain private, be shared anonymously, or be eligible for public use.
When in doubt, keep them private.
Who is couples boudoir for?
Couples book for anniversaries, engagements, weddings, reconnection, milestones, or because they want photographs that feel different from ordinary portraits. There is no relationship length or body type required.
The experience can be sensual without becoming performative. It can also be playful, romantic, dramatic, or quietly affectionate.
Bring your relationship. I will guide the photographs.
